ISLAMABAD: Due to inadequate security arrangements in the ongoing of National Twenty20 Cup, the future of sports in twin cities – Rawalpindi and Islamabad – seems bleak. The National T20 Cup, being organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is facing inadequate security arrangements. All the entry routes to the Pindi Stadium pass through food-street and shops, while on the other hand all walkthrough scanners, which are installed for fool proof security, are out of order. Due to negligence of the local administration, even the digital scoreboard installed in the ground is not functioning properly and spectators are facing problems. No high official of the PCB could reach Rawalpindi except Shakil Sheikh, chairman of the domestic cricket committee. Shakil, instead of reviewing the arrangements of the tournament, is enjoying protocol and AC rooms. Despite tall claims of the District Cricket Committee, the inadequate arrangement of security is a clear proof of its negligence.
