MANCHESTER: Manchester City (MCFC) coach Pep Guardiola said on Friday that he is content with his current squad’s ability to achieve club goals despite their search for new players to boost the lineup. Guardiola said during a press conference that regardless of City make new signings or not, he is happy with the squad he has and is hopeful for an exceptional season. “If we have to stay with the players we have right now we are happy, if someone comes we are happy too. I know how good the club works since I arrive here and we try to do our best, sometimes it’s possible, sometimes not. Nothing to say.” He said. The Spanish coach further emphasised that the blues have immense talent in their youth ranks but to win a place in the first team, the young blues will have to fight for it. “I think the academy players, the big ones and important ones, are here in the squad. Phil Foden, Brahim Diaz, Tosin Adarabioyo. They don’t play in the first team because they were in academy. They have to win that situation.” Added the 46-year-old. City spent over £200 million on signings this summer and is linked to Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and West Brom’s Jonny Evans with under two weeks remaining before the transfer period ends. The Manchester based club started their English Premier League (EPL) season with a convincing 2-0 away win against Brighton and will face Everton on Tuesday at the Etihad Stadium.
