GERMANY: Bayer Leverkusen continued its upward rise thanks to a historic goal by Karim Bellarabi. The 26-year-old German international headed the first goal of the match for manager Roger Schmidt at FC Augsburg with the 50,000 goal of the Bundesliga history. Bellarabi came to the thrilling lead in the 23rd minute, almost 54 years after Timo Konietzka scored the first goal of the Bundesliga on 24 August in the year 1963. Javier Chicharito Hernandez increased the lead scoring his tenth goal for the season in the 40th minute to 2-0. Dominik Kohr (60) shone again before Chicharito (65) scored again after a brilliant pass from Havertz. A test awaits the German club as Spanish club Atletico Madrid faces them on Tuesday.
