MANCHESTER: Manchester United (MUFC) manager Jose Mourinho has said on Friday that forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s career at the club might not be over yet. Speaking to a press conference, Mourinho said “it’s possible” for the Swedish veteran to play for the club again, despite the red devils not offering him a new contract after the initial contract ended in May. “It’s possible. It’s open, we wanted to be honest and open and make a decision if his desire was to leave. There was no new contract,” said Mourinho. Ibrahimovic who suffered a knee ligament injury at the back end of last season is currently recovering under the supervision of MUFC’s medical staff, as well as using their facilities in Carrington. Mourinho also added that the club provided Zlatan space to make a decision and he still wants the big stage. “We left a space of time for everybody to decide and from his view he made a decision that he still wants to play at highest level,” he said. The 54-year-old further stated that United will wait till December for Zlatan’s final decision and then only the club will make a move. “Let’s make a decision that makes us all happy and if that’s for him to stay and we wait until December, maybe. I don’t think before December,” the Portuguese added. Earlier this week, the 35-year-old forward, who has offers various Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs, told the media to expect a “big announcement” soon.
