LONDON: Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil on Wednesday has urged Alexis Sanchez to reject offers from other clubs and stay at the Emirates Stadium instead. The 28-year-old Chilean forward has offers from Arsenal’s league rivals Manchester City (MCFC) and German champions Bayern Munich, with the blues confident of landing Sanchez to the Etihad Stadium. The German says he does not have any idea about the club’s ongoing transfer negotiations but is hoping that Alexis stays at Arsenal, according to sources. “I hope Alexis stays but I don’t know what the status is to be perfectly honest, but I value him a lot as a player and he’s very well-suited to the game Arsenal play.” said Ozil. He further added that Sanchez’ departure would deeply influence the gunners as he remains an integral part of the London club. “It would hit the team quite hard if he left because he’s a player who always delivers. It would be a setback to winning the title but, in the end, it’s the player’s decision.” he said. Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has rejected claims regarding the forward’s departure from the club. Both Ozil and Sanchez have one year left on their current contract and are subject to new contract negotiations. Arsenal are currently in Australia for pre-season and face Sydney FC on Thursday in the first match of their tour, while Sanchez is currently enjoying his holidays which were cut short due to the confederations cup.
