MANCHESTER: Europa league holders Manchester United confirmed the signing of 24-year old Belgian international forward Romelu Lukaku on a five-year deal on Monday. Jose Mourinho who sold Lukaku to Everton in his last few years as Chelsea manager was full of praise for the Belgian attacker. He called Romelu a natural fit for the club and lauded him by calling him a big player with a big personality, and praised his decision to join Manchester United as the club has the same ambitions as the player, to win trophies and titles. Lukaku thanked his previous club’s players, management and supporter for four fine seasons, and touted Jose Mourinho and Manchester United coming in for him as the reason he left his former club. He is looking forward to playing in front of 75,000 fans each week and creating memories with them. The aggressive striker is known for his goal scoring abilities with both head and feet and is likely to play the main striker role just like Zlatan Ibrahimovic did last season at United before his one-year contract expired, the Swede scored 17 times for united in the premier league. He is expected to play a part in Manchester United’s pre-season tour. Lukaku joins Belgian international team mate Marouane Fellaini in United’s first team.
