KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) received massive criticism from former captain and cricket legend Javed Miandad on Friday for letting ‘tainted’ players play the game. His angry remarks came shortly after PCB said that Islamabad United player Sharjeel Khan and his teammate Khalid Latif were provisionally suspended and an inquiry was launched against duo on charges of corruption. “No in-form player plays a shot which Sharjeel Khan played,” he said. Sharjeel, opening for Islamabad United against Peshawar Zalmi, fell cheaply after scoring one run only. “If we will continue to let tainted players play the game, such things are going to happen,” Miandad said. Speaking on this occasion, former captain Aamir Sohail said that Pakistan cricket was heading in a wrong direction. “Something is definitely fishy here,” he said, adding it was just a tip of the iceberg. To a question, he said that the cricket board should approach both the players to get to the truth.
