KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has ordered commissioner Karachi to take action against the administration of a super store who has grabbed government land illegally to construct their car parking. The chief minister said that he would not allow anybody to grab government’s land illegally and create inconvenience for the smooth flow of traffic and people of the area. He asked, “How it is possible for a person or a private company to illegally occupy green belt, portions of storm water drain when the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is very much present in the city.” He said where was anti-encroachment department of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and its directors and the administrator when the illegal work of occupying green belt and storm water drain was being done. The chief minister directed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation administrator to be vigilant and vibrant and look after the property of his corporation in the same way as he takes care of his own property. Meanhwile, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah during his visit to home of Abdul Sattar Edhi at Kharadar noticed that the DMC South has failed to keep the area clean. There are heaps of filth and garbage along the roads and streets. Taking serious view of the filth and garbage, the chief minister ordered Sindh Chief Secretary Siddique Memon to put the services of Chief Sanitary Inspector (CSI) Waqar under suspension for his failure to perform his duties properly. On the other hand, the overall sanitary conditions of Karachi are not better than the sanitary conditions of district south, as the entire city has become a big heap of garbage. On a separate note, while taking to media, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that he has the honour to be the signatory of 1973 Constitution and know that there is no provision of ‘stop-gap arrangement of PM slot’ in the constitution. He said, “In the constitution, there is no provision of two prime ministers, one under medical treatment abroad and other one running the government affairs in the country.” He further said, “According to Constitution of Pakistan, there will be only one prime minister whether he is in the country or goes out of country for visits or medical treatment. CM Syed Qaim Ali Shah brushing aside the political differences with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said, “He is an elected prime minister of Pakistan, may God give him good health and early recovery so that he can return to Pakistan as soon as possible.”
