KARACHI: Senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Moula Bux Chandio, on Friday congratulated Syed Murad Ali Shah on becoming chief minister of Sindh after getting vote of confidence from Sindh Assembly with majority. According to a congratulatory statement issued, Chandio welcomed Sindh’s new chief minister and hoped that he will resolve public problems on priority basis besides tackling issues pertaining to peace in province with political wisdom and law. He said, “New chief minister is fully committed to follow constitution, PPP’s policies, rule of law and discretionary powers. The chief minister will ensure durable peace and bring social and economic prosperity in the province.” PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has brought Sindh’s new chief minister after consultation with party leaders in a hope that he will better tackle law and order issue and resolve public issues amicably, Chandio said. He said, “National institutions providing security, justice, and essential services will be strengthened, while hectic efforts will be made to boost peace and prosperity as sustainable development depends on durable peace. He said every citizen needs durable peace, better education, standard health facility, and social welfare atmosphere; therefore, new chief minister will leave no stone unturned in this regard. People also need to help government for boosting peace and development process as history tells us that democratic process could be completed only with the cooperation of public, he added. Chandio said Sindh government is on a mission to make Karachi a global destination in the field of higher education, so that province could make greater progress in IT and economic sectors. PPP is the party of masses, down-trodden people and orphans, and its government in Sindh is fully determined to provide them all basic facilities of life, including education and health, he maintained. Chandio said, “New chief minister is a true party leader who fully believes in lessons given by Benazir Bhutto and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He has been competent in politics. He also knows well how to resolve problems in a challenging atmosphere. Murad Ali Shah has always complied with party principles and respected directions given by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari.” On a separate note, Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan on Friday congratulated Sindh’s newly elected chief minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, on his election. In a felicitation message, he wished Syed Murad Ali Shah well on his election as the leader of the House in Sindh Assembly. A session on Friday which was chaired by Speaker Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, Murad Ali Shah secured 88 votes out of the total 91 cast. His opponent, Khurrum Sher Zaman of PTI got three votes. The governor, in his message, said that the election from the Sindh Assembly would enhance the confidence of Syed Murad Ali Shah. He said that close cooperation and contact would continue for the progress, development and prosperity in the province.
