KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday visited residence of slain Amjad Sabri and offered condolences to the bereaved family. He was accompanied by Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal and his political secretary Jameel Soomro, said a Bilawal House media cell statement. Talking to the aggrieved family, Bilawal said he, being the victim of terrorism, could feel the depth of pain that the Sabri family was undergoing. Sabri’s mother described Bilawal as the “heir of martyrs”. Speaking on the occasion, Bilawal said: “His party would promote music, culture and religious harmony to combat the violent extremist mindset that robbed us of our national cultural assets.” The statement also pointed out that Ghulam Farid Sabri, father of Amjad Sabri, had sung one the most popular songs to eulogise PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Sarwat Sabri, brother of slain Amjad Sabri, appreciated steps taken by the Sindh government to promote Sufi music including qawwali to encourage brotherhood, harmony and peace in the society.
