KARACHI: Rain spell continued in Karachi for the second consecutive day on Sunday resulting in seven casualities after being electrocuted. Pakistan Meteorological Department Officer at Jinnah International Airport, Mehmood Zaidi told Daily Times that airport area received 30mm rain today and more rain is expected on Monday. Karachi police spokesperson, Sohail Jokhio said seven people died in Karachi today in rain related incidents. Shoaib was electrocuted in Sector 2 in New Karachi in limits of Khawaja Ajmer Nagri police station. His body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Javed was electrocuted in Gulshan-e-Sikandarabad in limits of Jackson police station. His body was shifted to Civil Hospital. Jabbar and Raheem were electrocuted in Sector 7D in limits of Surjani police station. Their bodies were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Salman was electrocuted in Malir. Nazar Ahmed, a laborer died after he fell while working on roof top in Commissioner House Quarters in Artillery Maidan police limits. His body was shifted to Civil Hospital. Saima, 13, died when a car slipped in rain on Super Highway when she was traveling with her parents to Hyderabad. On Saturday, four people including women and children died in rain related incidents in Karachi. A Meteorological Office official said that more rain was expected in Karachi. He said that the maximum temperature was expected to remain between 31 to 33 degrees Centigrade during the period. The maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was 29.8 degrees Centigrade whereas the minimum was 27.5 degrees Centigrade. The humidity was 85 percent in the morning whereas it was 88 percent in the evening.
