KARACHI: Former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain and other accused could not be indicted in corruption case because Dr Asim was not produced in the Accountability Court (AC) because of being sick. The hearing of the case was adjourned till October 17 for not presenting former petroleum minister by the jail authorities. Hussain and others are charged with inflicting financial loss of Rs 17 billion in national exchequer by awarding illegal contracts to a private company. All the accused persons arrested in the case were to be indicted but the jail authorities told the court that Dr Asim is indisposed; therefore, he can not be presented. The court postponed the hearing of the case till October 17.
