KARACHI: At least five alleged gangsters of Uzair baloch group have been rounded up during a raid by police in Lyari area of metropolis. The police, on a tip, raided a hideout in Lyari area of city on Tuesday and apprehended five alleged gangsters of Uzair Baloch group. The gangsters were involved in kidnapping, robbery and extortion cases in the metropolis. According to police, three suspected persons who were identified as Mazeb Baloch, Gul Khan and Abdullah Laasi, were running drug and gambling dens in old Sabzi Mandi area of city. The police claimed that Laasi is also accused of killing a political party’s sector in-charge in PIB Colony. On a separate note, the Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG), Karachi, Mushtaq Mahar, chaired a meeting to review law and order situation and investigation of high profile cases so far. According to a police statement on Tuesday, the AIG police also gave directives in this regard. He also called for beefing up security arrangements in the metropolis and also called for promoting the community policing.
