KARACHI: Senior Minister and Pakistan People’s Party provincial president Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s step to lockdown Islamabad would destabilize Pakistan. Addressing a press conference along with Adviser for Information Moula Bux Chandio here on Tuesday, he said that Imran Khan’s protest in Islamabad could not bring any change; instead it would tarnish the image of the nation. They said that the responsibility of this possibility would be on the PTI chairman. To a question, they said that Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan was facing his old friends and the party. “The role of the governor was laudable in PPP tenures but it is responsibly of the federal government whether to investigate the issues or not,” they said. Khuhro and Chandio welcomed the Urdu speaking community of Karachi and invited them to join the Pakistan People’s Party after divisions in the Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). Chandio also rejected MQM’s allegations against the PPP. Nisar condemned the attack on police training centre in Quetta and loss of precious lives there. “It is a sad moment for the country. Today we observed a black day,” Nisar said. He also said that it was quite true that Zarb-e-Azab security operation and the National Action Plan were a joint decision of the political parties and the nation. “Pakistan has achieved objectives but it should be continued according to the situation,” he said.He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should take the issue of Panama Papers’ revelations seriously.
