KARACHI: A hoax bomb call created panic among people at a bank’s branch on Friday after an unidentified person called the bank and warned a staff member of bomb blast. Extra contingent of law enforcers immediately reached the site and evacuated a multi-storey commercial building – Hussain Centre. Experts from the bomb disposal squad were also called at the site to search the building. “An unidentified man called the Emaan bank situated at a multi-storey building on Sharae Faisal near Baloch Colony and warned the staff that ‘soon there will be a bomb blast at their bank’,” said Tipu Sultan SHO Pervez Bhutto. “This happened at the time when most of the people in the building had already left to attend the Friday prayers while the rest of the people were evacuated after receiving threat call.” Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team thoroughly searched the entire building. However, it turned out to be a hoax.
