BADIN: A high level meeting headed by Deputy Commissioner Badin, Shoukat Hussain Jokhio was held at the Darbar Hall, Badin on Friday, to finalize the arrangements in connection with the national census to be commenced from March 15. DC Badin urged the representatives of various civil society, from different circles and renowned scholars and intellectuals to come forward to play their role and extend awareness amongst the people at a grass roots level to fully participate in the national cause to be included in the census for the betterment of people and in the interest of country’s for future planning. Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan, ADC-II, in a capacity of focal person has apprised the session that 1220 blocks have been made in 5 Talukas of the District including 25 Superintendents and 139 Circles, more than seven Master Trainers were appointed who have completed trainings of the employees of the education department, he added. Moreover he added that the census work has been assigned to 139 circle supervisors with 670 enumerators also to be selected to assign the census including 10% reserve staff. Major Usman, Pakistan Army, focused to the participants to work hard with sincerity and full of devotion to achieve the national cause requesting the census department to carryout work to prepare a detail mapping at the Union Council level as well as revenue villages on a war footing to achieve the objectives. On the point that a large number of residents of the district have no CNICs, DC Badin urged NADRA authorities to strengthen the process of issuance of CNICs as people on a large scale may get it before the census. DC Badin also stressed to the Media and Information Department Badin to play its vital role to create mass mobilization of the common people for fully participation in the census. Major Iftikhar of the Pak Army, Abdul Majeed Leghari, Assistant Director, Census Hyd, Journalists of Badin, Ali Asghar Halepoto, Chairman, District Council Badin, ADC-I, Dr. Nawaz Bhoot, DSP Head quarter, Assistant Commissioners of respective Talukas and other respective departments also attended the meeting.
