KARACHI: The Sindh Home Department has issued a threat alert on Thursday, warning about the terrorists’ plans to attack key public places in Karachi including the most frequently visited Zainab Market, which is located in city’s Red Zone near Sindh Governor House. Issued by the provincial home department, the threat alert cites intelligence reports as warning that terrorists could target key places and buildings in Karachi like Sindh High Court, Sindh Assembly, Empress Market, Zainab Market, M.A. Jinnah Road and restaurants in Do Darya, Defence. Some of the areas identified in the threat alert falls within the Red Zone. The letter asks all police departments to exercise stringent security measures and step up security checks at all such places in view of the threats.
