KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that he has directed the law enforcement agencies to provide proper security to the newly elected councilors so that they could participate in the election of mayor and chairmen. This he said while talking to media during his visit to different media houses on Tuesday. He was accompanied by his advisor on Law Mola Bux Chandio. He said that the election of local bodies’ mayors, deputy mayors, chairmen and vice chairmen is taking place on Wednesday. “I have issued necessary directives to the police and rangers to provide necessary security to the councilors so that they can participate in the local bodies’ elections for mayors and chairmen,” he said and added that he was quite optimistic that this process would be completed amicably and peacefully. Replying to a question he said the mayors and chairmen would have to take oath for their loyalty to Pakistan. This is very loud and clear, he said. He said that he wanted to visit the media houses when they were attacked by some terrorists yesterday but his security team refrain them. “This made me furious and I said if I am, the chief minister of the province is not secure in my capital city then how my citizens would feel secure,” he said and left the CM House and visited the media house. He said it was responsibility of the police to provide security to each and every citizen and he would ensure it. “Now nobody would be allowed to torch any vehicle, take gun in his hand and start shuttering down in the markets,” he said and added that the honeymoon period of the outlaws was over now.
