KARACHI: A session’s court granted pre-arrest bail on Saturday to the guard of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) who has been booked for slapping a female reporter of a local news channel at NADRA’S office in Liaqatabad area. An additional district and session judge (central) approved the bail for Hassan Abbas against a surety bond of Rs50000. Abbas approached the court through his counsel seeking an interim bail in the case. A case was registered with the Gulbahar police station against the FC personnel for assaulting modesty of the female report of K-21 TV channel by slapping her. Footage of the incident that the cameraperson of the channel had recorded went viral on social media that showed an FC guard slapping a female reporter while she was doing a live programme. The reporter seemed using harsh language against the guard and even tried to clip her shirt and that’s when he slapped her and latter the noise of firing was also heard. But it was not proved that the FC guard opened the fire or the television channel itself included it through editing.
