KARACHI: Holding MQM responsible for the destruction of civic bodies, senator Saeed Ghani has said that many ghost employees still exist in local government department who consider themselves above the law and acountablity. Many local government departments including Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) have black sheep where a large number of ghost employees could be found and they consider themselves beyond any accountability. Addressing a press conference at Bilawal House along with 10 union councilors who joined Pakistan People Party PPP, Senator Ghani viewed that despite running such a huge department the employees of KMC were constantly seeking grants. Senator Saeed Ghani claimed that 2018 elections would produce favourable results for the party as many people with good reputation and performance were coming into party’s ambit. “We are working on different projects in Sindh, people are unaware of the development because we do not advertise such projects on the scale of PMLN. We would further increase the number of projects in coming days”, he added. Responding to a question regarding the shelling on PSP workers and condemnation by Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, he said ” Chaudhry Nisar is right as it is the legal and constitutional right of people to protest for the resolution of their issues. If PPP had condemned the same issue it would have misperceived.” Reply to another question, he said different parties are working in Sindh that is good sign. “Imran Khan wants to work with Liaquat Jatoi in Interior of Sindh which shows that Imran Khan is even unaware of the basics of politics”, he observed. Reply to a question, he said that Mustafa Kamal lacks strength to shutdown the city even he cannot shutdown his own area. The protesters must set their own directions before criticizing the performance of the government, he said.
