LAHORE: Residents of a private housing society in a posh area of the provincial metropolis Thursday bemoaned lack of basic facilities in the society despite payment of development charges. “The administration of Tariq Gardens is charging Rs 4,000 development fee but the housing society still lacks basic facilities such as parks and a graveyard,” Aslam Gohar, a resident of the society, told APP. To a question, he said that the residents had approached the Tariq Gardens’ administration and requested them to develop the cemetery but the administration turned a deaf ear to their demand. He said no boundary wall or walkways had been built in the graveyard despite several requests. The residents of the society urged the CM to direct a probe into the matter by the LDA. However, Tariq Gardens Housing Society President Usama Tariq has claimed that all basic facilities are being provided to the residents. Published in Daily Times, June 23rd, 2017.
