MIRPUR KHAS: A large number of residents of Mirpurkhas, including men, women, students and families thronged the Family Health Festival, the two-day event on Sunday. The festival under the title, Hum Roshan to Kal Roshan was organized by the Population Welfare Department Mirpurkhas and Rural Support Program Network in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA, at Ground No 2 Satellite Town Mirpurkhas, which was concluded, here on Sunday. The youth in the fun-filled event were so overjoyed that they started dancing as Khusbu Lagari Folk Singer and others artists on the stage turn by turn and sang different traditional and folk songs. The families visited the stalls in great number which displayed handicrafts, embroidery, Taghar work, Bannu Royal Khaadi, stone carving, wood carving, artwork, calligraphy, pottery work, and embroidery and a lot of other items.There was a great rush on the stalls for the traditional and local cuisines. The visitors enjoyed dahi bhallay, burgers, rice pullao and biryani, dampukh, chapal kabab, and others organized by the Local NGOs Zahid Memon Deputy Commissioner Mirpurkhas was honorable guest in the program.
