LARKANA: The Education Secretary Abdul Aziz Uqaili said that he will never tolerate negligence in performance of teachers in dispensing their duties. He expressed his anger over non-utilization of school specific budget for which he said that he is dissatisfied adding that officers of education do not want to spend the budget adding those who will fail in proper utilization of funds, explanation calls will be issued first and then show cause notices will be given to them followed by stern actions. He was presiding over a high level meeting at DC office in which Commissioner Abbas Baloch and DC Kashif Ali also participated along with others. He said that the workings of the Larkana education department officers is poor and he has been disheartened. He said construction of washrooms, boundary walls, installation of ceiling fans in classrooms, and solar panels is their priority and improving the standard & quality of education is their top priority which should never be compromised at any cost. He said committees have been formed headed by concerned deputy commissioners which will send them recommendations which also include the reopening of closed schools, enhancement of enrollment, and transfer/posting of teachers adding which will be implemented. He said ghost teachers will now be sent to their homes after fulfillment of required formalities. He said model schools will also be established in every district. He later visited various schools in Naundero, Larkana including Girls Degree College, Rahmatpur High School, Public School, Phull School, Girls & Boys Higher Secondary Schools of Naundero, USAID under-construction school at village Kehar and primary schools.
