KARACHI: At least three dacoits who were engaged in looting cattle traders were killed in a shootout with police near Super Highway in the remits of Super Highway Industrial Area in the early hours on Sunday while another was gunned down in Korangi area. According to police, the action was taken when nearly half dozens of dacoits near Janjaal Goth were engaged in looting the convoy of cattle traders by cordoning off the roads. Police officials directed the police teams comprising various mobiles to reach the spot, upon seeing the police robbers started firing at police mobile and tried to escape. In retaliatory firing of police three dacoits were killed on the spot while their other accomplices managed to flee. Police recovered weapons and shifted the bodies of suspects to the Edhi morgue, after performing legal formalities in civil hospital Karachi. The suspects were not identified till the filing of the report while police were after the escaped comrades of deceased. Meanwhile another suspected robber was killed while his comrades managed to escape after exchange of fire with police in Zaman Town area of Korangi on midnight of Saturday- Sunday. Arms and looted cash were recovered from possession of the suspect. It is pertinent to mention that every year before Eid-ul-Adha, street crimes increase in adjacent areas of Super Highway and Suhrab Goth due to the increasing business activities due to the cattle market in Suhrab Goth.
