DADU: Project Director of Nai Gaj Dam Ali Hassan Lashari has claimed that the construction of the dam project could not be completed on time due to the indifferent attitude of the federal government of Pakistan. The Nai Gaj Dam Project, a joint project of China and Pakistan, was being constructed across Nai Gaj River in mountainous area of Dadu district. The dam was supposed to irrigate barren lands of the district and also would end water pollution which is being caused by Manchhar Lake. The project was supposed to start working partially in 2011, and was supposed to be completed by 30 April, 2016, but Project Director of Nai Gaj Dam failed to complete it for which he justified his position by blaming federal government for not releasing the funds on time. “If government does not give importance to the project, then it would take another thirty eight years to complete,” Lashari went on to justify his position, adding that the project has already cost billion rupees.
