KARACHI: Sindh government has engaged an ‘international consortium of consultants’ to carry out study for a railway line, power plant and jetty at Keti Bandar. This was told to a meeting presided over at the CM House by chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. Muard said that the Keti Bandar project was conceived by former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto but due to some political reasons it could not be materialized. Now, we have included it in CPEC projects. The consultant will also prepare business plan and assist government up to financial close. The feasibility would be completed within 10 months and the project being part of CEPC is expected to bring Chinese financing. The meeting was attended by Chairman P&D Mohammad Waseem, Secretary Energy Sgha Wasif, Special Secretary Energy Department Rasid Hussain Kazi, DG SCA Mr. Abubakar Madani, Technical officer Shariq Raza, Chief Investment Finance Shahnawaz.
