KARACHI: Muttahida Workers Front (MWF) and Labour Front (LF), the Collective Bargaining Agents CBA of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) have parted their ways due to disagreement on 10-point agenda. Irshad Qasi, Chairman, Rasheed Ahmad, President and Abdul Qayyum, Secretary of LF on the matter of split between the two parties were of the view that MWF had refused to honour their demands under agreed agenda for rule of business. They alleged that MWF representatives on arbitration have shown no interest in resolving the dispute between the two labour unions besides denying of giving posts on the board of labour union. Even LF elected members could not have been invited on important matters of the combined union, they lamented. MWF has also kept them away from policy making in connection with health, education and jobs opportunities of the kins as a bargaining agent, they said adding LF would go to the court for its due rights. This accord was signed on November 15, 2015. Some signatories of MWF have also cropped up differences among them, which was also a reason for non-compliance of LF demands, they added.
