KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has asked the Rangers director general and others to file their respective replies to a petition seeking release of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s London leader Advocate Saathi Ishaque. A two-judge bench headed by Justice Syed Muhammad Farooq Shah adjourned the hearing till Jan 16. Shabana Ishaque, the missing advocate’s spouse, filed an application, submitting that the paramilitary troops had arrested her spouse from his office located in Karachi’s Saddar area on 12th January without any plausible reason. Neither was he required in any criminal case, nor was he involved in any criminal activity , she added; while requesting the judges to direct the law enforcement agencies to produce her husband in the court. Shabana attached the application in the main petition she had filed earlier against the paramilitary troops for allegedly persecuting her and other family members to elicit whereabouts of Ishaque.
