KARACHI: Seven people, including two women and a minor, were killed in a collision between Suzuki van and a truck on early Tuesday morning in Malir District on Tuesday due to bad condition of road. According to the details a van registration number KS-8327carrying over a dozen of ill-fated families member collided with a truck registration number JS-9825 near link road. The van was heading to Kathor Morr from Steel Town, a remote area of the city in the wee hours. Police and rescue workers reached on the spot after receiving the information of incident. According to the rescue workers four people died on the spot while two succumbed to their injures on way to hospital and a woman breathed here last in the hospital. “Initially six people were brought dead including one woman and two minor boys. Later on a woman out of three inured was succumbed to the injuries” Dr Seemin Jamali the Director Jinnah Hospital told Daily Times. Two injured of the incident were still under treatment in the ICU department, Dr Seemin informed. According to the initial investigation the van collided with the truck as the driver avoid a ditch on the road. Deceased were identified as two brothers Noman 12, Shams uddin 5 and their mother Sajida 40, Saiqa 30, Abdul Malik 50, the driver, Mohammad Siddiqui and Gul Baig. Deceased hail from different areas of interior of Sindh and came to Kathor Mor were heading to steel town. After the incident the locals staged protest demonstration against administration of highways as the condition of the road has become worst resulting many accident have occurred but no action has been taken to repair the road.
