KARACHI: The third book of Dr Fasihuddin Ashraf (PSP), ‘Safar Ki Dhol’, has been published by Research Library, Peshawar. The book comprises more than 80 critical essays and research-based articles on a variety of subjects, including history, security issues, social problems, international affairs, Pak-US relations, Afghanistan and the war on terror, biographical sketches, mysticism, Saudi Arabia’s new role, book reviews, policing and criminological issues, and satire. The book is dedicated to the well-known women intellectuals such as Kishwar Naheed, Dr Fahmida Mirza, Zahida Hina, Dr Fatima Hassan, Shamama Arbab, Sabah Begum and other women leaders who have contributed to the Pakistani society in different walks of life, and literature. The book also has interesting articles on Afghanistan’s internal security situation and the politics of ex-Afghan president Hamid Karzai. At the end of the book, renowned civil and military officers and reputed scholars have given their comments on the literary work and academic contributions of the author, Dr Fasihuddin, who is the president of the Pakistan Society of Criminology, editor-in- chief of Pakistan Journal of Criminology.
