BADIN: Widow of renowned historian, poet and anthropologist late Shaikh Mohammad Soomar has demanded of the Sindh government to regularise contract service of her son and also raise her monthly stipend. Protesting in front of the Badin Press Club, Raj Bai complained that her son, who works at the Laar Museum in Badin, had not received salary for the last six months, and her family members were facing a situation like starvation. She demanded of the provincial government to raise her monthly stipend as financial crisis had forced her to work as a maid. She said that her family was now selling out books written by her late husband to survive. It may be mentioned here that late Shaikh Mohammad Soomar had authored 447 books on different topics, but only 65 of them had so far been published.
