SHIKARPUR: A meeting was held here on Saturday to review arrangements for reopening of 268 closed schools in Shikarpur district. Deputy Commissioner Sikandar Ali Khush presided over the meeting at his office. Primary Schools District Officer Muhammad Shah informed the meeting that on the direction of the education minister 108 closed primary schools have been re-opened out of 268, while 50 middle schools out of 67 have started academic activities. Reform Support Unit’s Nadeem Shaikh said that 268 primary schools are still closed in Shikarpur district. On the occasion, the deputy commissioner expressed his disappointment over the performance of the officials of the Education Department.
