KARACHI: Former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain was indicted on Friday in the Rs 462 corruption case, as the accused pleaded not guilty. An accountability court judge told Dr Asim that charges of misuse of trust land, corruption in financial matters and money laundering have been levelled against him. The judge while declaring Dr Asim accused in the light of evidence and statement of witnesses indicted him, however, the PPP leader pleaded not guilty, saying all allegations against him were baseless and false. “All documents presented by the prosecution are fake and false and they have nothing to do with facts. I am being victimised politically,” he said. Later, Dr Asim while talking to media said sarcastically, “I have stolen goats of NAB and it will now institute a goat theft case against me. All know that I am a political prisoner of the government. I guess more cases are being registered against me. People who have purchased properties in Dubai should also be held accountable.
