LARKANA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Larkana Chapter, observed 5th July as ‘black day’ against Zia’s martial law on Wednesday. In this connection a protest program was held at Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women Library which was participated by large number of men & women activists wearing black bands over their arms. While addressing the participants, Larkana district president Abdul Fatah Bhutto and Mayor Aslam Shaikh said that dictator Zia imposed martial law by overthrowing an elected government on 05th July 1977 and then hanged the first elected prime minister of Pakistan in a fake case. They said that after this incident the country was plunged into a long dictatorship era negative affects of which are still faced by the nation. They said that PPP has rendered matchless sacrifices for democracy, the development of the nation and the country and claimed that PPP leadership will take the country to the development path.
