LARKANA: As many as 28 people were taken into custody for investigations in a raid jointly conducted by the police and Rangers on Wednesday in areas affected in the bloody dispute between two groups of the Jatoi community three days ago. Of those arrested, four were proclaimed offenders wanted in earlier cases, stated a press release issued by the Public Relations Office of the DIGP Larkana. The July 3 dispute had claimed 15 lives. The joint raid search was carried out in NihalBadani, Dost Muhammad, Rab Nawaz Badani, Jhandho Saeed Khanani, Gulsher Saeed Khanani and Piyaro Saeed Khanani villages. The four hardened criminals were identified as JabbarJatoi, TaghyalJatoi, QadirJatoi, and QurbanShar. The raiding team also seized Kalashnikov rifles, two shot guns, rocket launcher shells, bullets and cartridges. Speaking to the media on the occasion, DIGP Abdullah Sheikh said the situation had been brought under control. He said all those involved in taking the law into their own hands would be taken to task. The dispute between Badani and SaeedKhanani clans of the Jatoi community had started over an old enmity near Khanpur area of Shikarpur district.
