Karachi:Aafia Movement leader and noted neuro physician of Pakistan, Dr Fowzia Siddiqui has said that that had the rulers swapped the spy, Raymond Davis, for the innocent Dr Aafia Siddiqui, today Pakistan would not become a laughing stock before whole world. In a statement issued here Monday, she said that today the killer of several Pakistanis is free in his country, while the innocent daughter of the nation, Aafia, has been languishing in American jail for last 14 years. She said General (retired) Ahmed Shuja Pasha while bargaining for the release of Raymond Davis did not consider the interests of his own nation, as well as, the sanctity of the martyred citizens. Dr Fowzia said that it is necessary that every Pakistani living anywhere in the country should be given a proper protection. She said the Pakistani political leadership was also fully involved in the shameful release of the American spy as it had kept a criminal mum on this matter at that time. She asked were the Pakistani establishment and politicians not aware of the facts that are now revealed by the American spy in his book. She asked why the political parties inopposition were silent when it was a chance to seek the release of the daughter of nation. Dr Fowzia appealed to the nation, especially, young people to read the book of Raymond Davis and also the newspapers of the time when the American spy was released so that they could know the ugly faces of the people who had done this anti-nation bargain and ask them why they are shedding the crocodile tears over it now.
