KARACHI: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Human Rights, Rehana Laghari on Wednesday has directed all officers of Human Rights Department Sindh to expand cooperation and strengthen coordination with other department of Sindh Government. Ms Laghari while presiding over an important meeting with district Human Rights officers at her office directed them to remain intact with every non-governmental organization, working in the province to address the human rights violation. She directed all officers to maintain diary of Human Rights related cases on daily basis and report them to concerned department including head office and she further directed to ensure punctuality in the offices and issue warning to those staff that was absent and coming late in office. ‘Nobody is above the law and will not be allowed to violate rules. I will pay surprise visit of human rights offices throughout the province’, she added. She also told that Human Rights situation must be strengthened to the international level, while every possible arrangement should be made to publicize the department and seminars, workshops and walks should be arranged, so that people should get the benefits. She assured to officers that their problems would be solved and she would personally speak with Deputy Commissioners for providing spaces for offices of Human Rights at Districts. She invited different national and international NGOs to establish a better cooperation with the department in order to address Human Rights issues and improving the Human Rights situation in the province. Director Human Rights Sindh, Mansoor Rajput and Administrator Complaint Center Directorate of Human Rights, Muhammad Ashfaque were also present on the occasion.
