LAHORE: Angry locals blocked Sheikhupura Road in protest against the alleged kidnapping of a 13-year-old boy from Mian Colony in Ferozewala area on Saturday. According to witnesses, some suspects grabbed the boy and fled in a car. On the other hand, police have claimed that the boy ran away from home after a dispute with his parents. It may be mentioned that an Afghan national was caught by locals hiding an unconscious kid in a gunny bag, however, police did not take any action due to lack of evidence against the suspect. Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan expressed shock over rampant incidents of kidnapping. “The case of over 600 children missing in Punjab would have raised alarm bells in any humane society. Sadly there seems to be no urgency here,” he added.
