LAHORE: Dr Yasmin Rashid will be Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) candidate in by-poll from constituency NA-120 after the decision of Supreme Court (SC) in the Panama Papers case. “Imran Khan has given green signal to contest election from NA-120 constituency,” gleeful Rashid told a television channel. She said, “I have continued my electoral campaign till date”. Reportedly, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) former ticket holder Hafiz Zubair would also contest election from the constituency. It should be recalled that Rashid was runner up in aforementioned constituency against Nawaz Sharif. She secured over 50,000 votes during the 2013 elections. Meanwhile, Pakistan PTI senior leader Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that process of accountability should be continued until the elimination of the last corrupt person from Pakistan. “Corrupt people should be apprehended and held accountable irrespective of their political affiliation to make this country corruption-free” he said while addressing party’s workers in his office on Saturday. Sarwar, who has also served as the Punjab governor, said that triumph of Imran Khan against corruption was the victory of whole country. “We assure people that Imran Khan will go to any extent to eradicate corruption from the country. Corrupt people shouldn’t be granted pardon in any case.” He added, “The PTI is standing by democracy and playing its role to strengthen the democracy in the country.” He said that people of Pakistan want complete eradication of the corrupt to make the country prosperous.
