GUJRANWALA: A police contingent fled from the scene after receiving a beating from women wielding sticks at Alam Chowk on Saturday. A landlord complained to police that his tenant, Manzooran Bibi – was refusing to vacate his house. A police party reached the houseand tried to force the occupiers to vacate but Manzooran and other women with her attacked the police with sticks. Resultantly, police officials were compelled to leave without finishing what they were asked to do.
