LAHORE: In order to make the province crime free and secure for the public, we should work day and night as a united force under one umbrella and should establish close liaison with the general public, elected representatives, business communities, religious scholars and local elites of each district for the purpose. This was stated by Punjab Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera while addressing an RPO Conference through video link at the Central Police Office on Friday. All RPOs and DPOs through video link, whereas, Additional Operations IG Capt (r) Arif Nawaz, Additional Establishment IG Dr Arif Mushtaq, Additional PHP IG Amjad Javed Saleemi, Establishment-I DIG Azhar Hamid Khokhar, Establishment-II DIG Sulman Chaudhry, Research and Development DIG Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir, Welfare DIG Jan Muhammad, Training DIG Saad Akhter Bherwana, Special Branch Intelligence DIG Zaeem Iqbal Sheikh, SPU DIG Agha Yousaf, Operations DIG Aamir Zulfiqar, Operations AIG Ahsan Younis, Development AIG Kamran Khan, Logistics AIG Humayun Bashir Tarar, Finance AIG Hussain Habib Imtiaz, Monitoring AIG Waqasul Hassan, Legal AIG Qaisar Ali Sheikh and other senior officers of CPO also attended the meeting. The conference decided to expedite action against the proclaimed offenders (POs) and tighten the nexus around them. Action under section 87 CrPc and 88 CrPc must be accelerated under the strategy, which was designed in the conference. The conference also decided that posting tenure of the accountants would be two years and for getting the next posting of the same, they have to complete two year’s posting in other sections. In total service, they can get six postings as accountant in steps, decided the conference. It was also decided that after completion of computerised human resource data of the Punjab Police, all transfer/postings would be made through this system so that all type of malpractices could be stopped. No police officer and official can get his salary through manual system and all salaries would be paid through banks, decided the conference. The conference devised a strategy to handle all received threat alerts through various agencies and operational procedure was also finalised in this regard. The IG also directed the officers to speed up the intelligence-based operations (IBOs), joint operations and all kind of search, monitoring and patrolling operations. He also decided that all these operations would remain continued in the province. The PPO also shared with the field officers about the directions passed by the chief minister regarding the end of kite flying and aerial firing. He directed them that no negligence in this regard would be acceptable as the protection of each human life is very important for the department.
