LAHORE: Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Muhammad Siddiqul Farooq has said that a five-marla hall and six shops along Lal Haveli should be vacated as per the decision of the administrator court of Rawalpindi. Addressing a press conference at his residence in Zaman Park here on Thursday, he said that the Lal Haveli was not the property of the trust and if Awami Muslim League (AML) chief MNA Sheikh Rashid Ahmed wanted to own that hall and shops, he should deposit Rs 150 million with the ETPB bank account. After this, the property could be transferred in his name legally, he said, adding that Rashid had 15 days to make an appeal against the decision. The said property had been occupied forcefully from the tenants of the board during the tenure of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf. He said that Rashid should adopt legal process instead of politicising it. He also said the Rawalpindi administrator had given the decision on Oct 17.
