LAHORE: Punjab University has condemned Indian atrocities in Held Kashmir and passed a resolution to express solidarity with the Kashmiris, in a meeting held by Vice Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran at PU’s Al-Raazi Hall on Saturday. The meeting discussed about the Kashmir issue as well as the present political scenario between Pakistan and India. Heads of all teaching and non-teaching departments of PU were present on the occasion. The meeting was told that the struggle of Kashmiris to join Pakistan was their own struggle. It was agreed that India was fanning terrorism and Indian forces were seriously violating human rights in Held Kashmir. The meeting was briefed that from January 1989 to October 2015, Indian forces have martyred 94,273 Kashmiris and arrested 131,212 civilians. As many as 10,159 rape cases were reported in Held Kashmir in which women were sexually assaulted and gang raped. In some cases, the bodies of women were cut into pieces and dissolved in acid. The meeting demanded that resolutions of the United Nation regarding the Kashmir issue must be implemented in true letter and spirit. The meeting agreed that Modi was involved in killing innocent Muslims and was denied the US visa because the United States had proof of Modi’s involvement in the killings. The meeting vowed to contact the officials of the United Nations in this regard. It was also mentioned that the nation stood with the government and Pakistan Army and is confident that Pakistan Army is capable of coping with any situation.
