LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Monday sought comments from the Aitchison College’s principal on a petition challenging the college’s admission policy. The counsel for the petitioner argued that the college had denied admission to a candidate, Ibrahim of age 72 months. He stated that as per the admission policy, a candidate of up to seven years of age could be admitted to the K-2 class. He said that Ibrahim was denied admission only because he was from Sindh. He said that one could be denied admission on the basis of race, colour or sect. He said that Ibrahim came on merit but even then he was not given admission to the college. He requested the court to issue directives to the college to give admission to the petitioner and also declare the college’s admission policy in violation of the constitution.
