LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafiq and Secretary Najam Ahmad Shah on Thursday reached the Lahore General Hospital after they heard about the Defence bomb blast. Both health high-ups supervised treatment being offered to the injured. Later, Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Khawaja Imran Nazir also arrived and reviewed the situation. Meanwhile, Khawaja Salman Rafiq also visited National Defence Hospital and inquired after the injured of the blast. He also donated blood on this occasion. Both the ministers strongly condemned bomb blast and expressed deep sense of grief and sorrow over loss of precious lives. They directed hospital administration to extend best medical facilities to the injured. Separately, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central leader Hamza Shahbaz has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over blast in DHA and condoled with the bereaved families of those martyred in the blast. He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls. He also prayed for early recovery of the injured. Earlier, at least 10 people were killed and over 20 injured in a mysterious blast at a key commercial hub at Block Z in the DHA on Thursday. The incident is first of its kind in the area, which is said to be the most posh and secured area of the city. The DHA residential area, which was specified for the retired army men, become an important commercial area of the provincial capital of Punjab after many local and international clothing brands, restaurants and other shops started operations in the commercial areas of different blocks of the DHA. Besides restaurants and brands, several offices of different companies are also located in this commercial zone. However, fortunately, not many people were present at the site when the blast occurred, as people living in the DHA usually prefer to visit the area in the evening.
