LAHORE: Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has commenced the new air-conditioned CNG bus service from Lahore to Narang. The service was inaugurated by Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanvir Hussain on Wednesday. The new service on B-30 route will resume operations from City Railway Station to Narang via Do Mooria Pull, Sheranwala Gate, Azadi Chowk, Shahdara Moor, Kala Khatai Road, Karol, Balkay, Fateh Rehan, Jamal Pur, Sadan Wali, and Ratta Gujran. The bus will stop at 35 points along the route. Three air-conditioned buses will serve the route in the initial phase in collaboration with Turkish private transport operator Platform. More buses will later be added to the route. The minimum fare will be Rs18 on this high occupancy vehicle route. The maximum fare will be Rs75. Hussain praised the launch of the new bus service and said that it would enable better quality commute from Lahore to Narang. The government’s top priority is to introduce state of the art facilities for the public and improving transport facilities was high on government agenda. Punjab Parliamentary Secretary Hassan Riaz, Chief Executive Officer LTC Khawaja Haider Latif, CFO Mariam Khawar, COO Zafar Qureshi, Senior Manager Operations Turkish Platform Ahmet Birjan, DGM Enforcement Chaudhry Shafique Ahmed, and Manager Operations Shahid Cheema were present on the occasion.
