LAHORE: Lashing out at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Imran Khan will be remembered as the one hatching conspiracies against development in the country. Talking to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmakers here on Saturday, the chief minister said that those levelling baseless allegations had been exposed as people had rejected their negative politics. He expressed hope that such elements would be wiped out in the upcoming elections. In an apparent reference to the PTI, the chief minister said that a conspiracy was hatched against development process in the country through sit-ins and lockdown. He said that the people had become fed up with their negative politics. He said that Imran Khan had not learnt any lesson from his repeated defeats and his only aim was to disrupt the process of development in the country. “Our opponents are afraid of loads of development projects launched by the incumbent government. They fear that elimination of load shedding would end their politics.” Shahbaz went on to say that those who had their loans written off were standing beside the PTI chief. He said that all those who got their loans written off should be held accountable. He claimed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had put the country on the path of progress. “People will not be hoodwinked anymore through their shenanigans. He added that the PML-N government would continue to serve the people. Those who met the Chief Minister include MNAs Pervaiz Malik, Asadur Rehman, Khalid Javed Warriach and MPA Mehmood Qadir Khan. Separately, the chief minister has expressed grief over the sad demise of prominent Urdu poet and educationist Professor Hassan Akbar Kamal. In a condolence message, the chief minister paid tribute to the services of the late professor and said that his services for Urdu literature would be remembered for a long time. He also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and grant of courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
