LAHORE: An unidentified bandit was allegedly killed in firing of his accomplice during a robbery bid in Sherakot police precinct on Tuesday. According to details, Sajid and Nazim were on their home on a motorcycle after withdraw cash from an automated teller machine when two dacoits, riding a motorcycle them and tried to snatch cash as well as other valuables. However, when Sajid and Nazim attempted to overpower the dacoits, one of them fired at Sajid and Nazim, who luckily escaped as the bullet hit his accomplice, leaving him dead on the spot. The dacoit who killed his accomplice managed to escape after snatching the motorcycle of Sajid and Nazim. Upon being informed, police reached the spot and shifted the dead body to the city mortuary for an autopsy. Further investigation was underway. Separately, a seven-year-old girl was electrocuted in Manga Mandi on Tuesday. According to details, Bisma, 7, was on her way when she inadvertently touched a hanging electric wire and fell unconscious. She was rushed to a local hospital where she expired. The family members of the deceased girl and a number of locals staged a protest demonstration against authorities concerned for their alleged negligence. The protesters demanded strict action against those responsible for the incident. Later, police handed over the body to the heirs after completing legal formalities. Also, a 24-year-old man killed when a rashly driven truck hit him near Islampura. The deceased has been identified as Amir, a resident of Gulshan Ravi. The truck driver managed to escape.
