LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday pledged that agriculture and industrial sector would be among top priorities of his party’s 2018 election manifesto. He was speaking to former PML senior vice president Irfan Ahmed Gardezi who called on him at Bilawal House. Gardezi has recently joined the PPP. Gardezi expressed complete confidence in Bilawal’s leadership and pledged to struggle for stability and strengthening of democracy under his leadership. Bilawal said the PPP has lit the light of hope in Pakistan through its unmatched struggle, sacrifices and daring narratives against dictatorial forces and terrorism. He said that poor policies of Nawaz government were demolishing the agriculture and industrial economy but PPP would not allow it at the cost of crony capitalism being promoted by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, former Punjab governor Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood, Southern Punjab PPP General Secretary Natasha Daultana and Southern Punjab PPP Information Secretary Shaukat Basra were also present. Meanwhile, Bilawal felicitated Ahsan Bhoon on becoming the vice chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council. The PPP chairman praised Bhoon’s leadership qualities and hoped that he would play a vital role for the legal fraternity, supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law in the country. “I applause contributions of Sheikh Ahsan Bhoon for restoration of democracy as a committed Party leader and confidently expected that he would continue his struggle for strengthening of democracy and upholding democratic values.”
