LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Saturday conducted a raid on the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department’s canteen and sealed it over poor hygienic conditions. A spokesman for the PFA said that the canteen located on Birdswood Road was sealed over absence of medical certificates of staff, presence of cigarette butts, unhygienic condition of employees and presence of insects. He that the PFA was continuing its crackdown on manufacturers and sellers of unhygienic food items on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Separately, the PFA teams imposed a fine of Rs 43,000 on several eateries across the city over violation of PFA laws. Meanwhile, dozens of eateries were served notices to ensure compliance with the relevant laws. Published in Daily Times, September 17th 2017.
